Speed and ease of use
In the hospitality industry, speed is essential. Faster ordering means higher revenue per table and less frustration for both customers and staff.
The "Rule of 3 Actions"
To scan a QR code, a guest must: 1) unlock their phone, 2) find and open the camera app, 3) aim, focus, and wait for the link to pop up to click on it
With Tacto-tap, it's simpler: unlock the phone and tap. The link opens immediately.
No "App anxiety" or technical barriers
Some guests sometimes struggle with scanning QR codes because they don't know how to aim their camera properly or accidentally download a separate "QR scanner app" full of ads. Tapping is a much more natural and now widely known action (think contactless payment).
Aesthetics & Appearance
Every establishment is unique and has its own appearance.
Invisible technology
A QR code is simply ugly; it is a large, black-and-white block with noise that detracts from a carefully designed interior. The NFC chip in the Tacto-tap is safely and invisibly hidden in the wood.
Brand preservation
Instead of a generic black-and-white square sticker, the guest looks at a luxury, tangible object with your company's own logo. It adds value to the table instead of distracting from it.
Sustainability & Environmental Factors
You want a solution that works and continues to work in all circumstances.
Too much or too little light
In atmospherically lit restaurants or dark cocktail bars, scanning a QR code is a hassle. Guests have to turn on their phone's flashlight to read the code, which ruins the atmosphere at the table. If there is too much sunlight, for example from direct sunlight, scanning a QR code is also made difficult. An NFC tag works via radio waves; it can literally be tapped in complete darkness.
Wear and dirt
A scratch, a bit of peeling glue, or a coffee stain can quickly make a QR code unreadable. Because the NFC technology in the Tacto-tap is securely embedded in the wood and finished with a special coating, dirt or wear has no effect on its functionality.
Safety & Reliability
In society, there are always people with less than good intentions.
Fraud-resistant
There is a growing problem with fraudsters secretly placing their own fraudulent QR stickers over those of a hospitality business to steal guest data or payments (known as QR phishing or 'quishing'). With the Tacto-tap, this is impossible; the built-in NFC chip is physically encased in the wood and is digitally locked by us so that no one can overwrite the link.
A "Premium" Experience
Provide your guests with a memorable experience.
The "Wow" factor
We are all a bit 'QR-fatigued' since the pandemic. Tapping a smartphone against a beautiful wooden object feels modern, exclusive, and surprising. It immediately gives the guest the feeling that this hospitality business invests in innovation and hospitality.
